Attributes Tremendous Growth in Second Half of 2009 to Increased
Interest in Geographic Search
CAMBRIDGE, MA—DECEMBER 14,
2009—MetaCarta, Inc., the leading provider of geographic search solutions, is proud to
announce a marked increase in its business during 2009, both in terms of new
sales and customer diversity. The growth is primarily attributed to government
agencies’ need to access location-based data
in real-time for high-profile challenges such as counter-terrorism efforts,
homeland security, force protection, and environmental compliance.
Contributing to the strong
growth in the third quarter were deals with the U.S. Army, Marine Corp, and Air
Force as well several customers in the intelligence community and media
organizations. Consisting of growth within existing customers as well as new
customer acquisition, MetaCarta’s Q3 sales are up 20% over the same period last
year.
MetaCarta released version
4.5 of its MetaCarta Geographic Search and Referencing Platform (GSRP) last
week, which includes Geographic Data Module (GDM) upgrades, tagging
enhancements, connectors enhancements, custom gazetteer enhancements,
Javascript SDK enhancements and OpenSearch support. The company also recently
recognized the accomplishments of the public sector team by promoting its
federal vice president of sales Ken Tomaselli into a greater sales leadership
role.
“I am very proud of the work
of our team over the past few quarters,” said Don Zereski, CEO of MetaCarta.
“Our customers have unique challenges in meeting real-time search needs and we
are proud to provide a technology that makes finding and acting on
location-based information easier.”
